Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), is the largest City Council in Peninsular Malaysia, with population of nearly 1 million people. Once known as Province Wellesley, it is often touted as the future of Penang, for its rapid development in housing, industrial and commercial sectors.

MBSP is the first local government in Malaysia to join ICLEI- Local Government For Sustainability in an effort to achieve sustainable development and global sustainability. While Penang Island has Georgetown being listed as UNESCO’s WorlD Heritage Site, Seberang Perai has natural heritage to charm the travellers who are interested in ecotourism. In fact, Seberang Perai not only keen to attract investors in industrial and commercial sectors, but also keen to preserve the nature and charm the eco travellers from various parts of the world.
