Official Opening Ceremony of Seberang Perai Municipal  Court.

The Seberang Perai Municipal Court was officially opened by Y.A.A Dato' Ahmad Fairuz bin Dato' Sheikh Abdul Halim, the Chief Justice Of Malaya on 10th June 2002 (Monday), 9.00a.m. at Kampung Jawa, Butterworth.

Amongst the guest present were:-

The President of Seberang Perai Municipal Council Yang Berbahagia Dato' Haji Ismail bin Mamat, Council Secretary, Court Officials including Chief Registrar from the Federation Court, Yang Berbahagia Dato' Abdul Wahab bin Said Ahmad and Law Adviser of Penang Yang Berbahagia Dato' Alizatul Khair binti Osman Khairuddin, Penang High Court Judges and also all the MPSP Councillors.

Seberang Perai Municipal Court was created specially to fasten the prosecution process. Prosecution cases can be settled quickly to reduce the backlogs cases at Butterworth Magistrate Court and Bukit Mertajam Magistrate Court. Seberang Perai Municipal Court will be operating electronically soon to provide a better and more efficient service.
